We Bear Fruits Of Righteousness – Pastor Chris
Saturday, August 26, 2017
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him (2 Corinthians 5:21).
Not only has God given us the gift of righteousness, He’s also made us His righteousness. Part of what this means is that we bear fruits of righteousness. Jesus said, “I am the vine, ye are the branches…” (John 15:5). The beauty of a tree is in its branches. You’re the “branch” of Jesus Christ, which means you carry the beauty of the Son of God.
Isaiah 61:3 calls us trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord of hosts, that He might be glorified. Trees bear fruits after their kind. Therefore, you bear fruits of righteousness (Philippians 1:11). You give vent to God’s best. His glory and excellence are expressed through you.
The people of the world should see you and recognise the excellence and elegance of the Spirit that you exude. The Word says so: “For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands” (Isaiah 55:12).
The “trees of the field” are the people of the world; they clap their hands as they recognise and acknowledge the glory, beauty, and perfection of God in your life. As you manifest the joy and peace of the Lord, the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you, in rejoicing. What a glorious life we have in Christ!
Psalm 92:12-14: “The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing.” This is your heritage in Christ. You’ve been established as a tree of righteousness, ordained to produce fruits and works of righteousness.
CONFESSION
I’m the workmanship of God in Christ Jesus, His perfection of beauty. I produce fruits and works of righteousness. I flourish even in a dry land, growing luxuriantly, and plush like a well-watered garden. I produce results that are consistent with my nature as the righteousness of God. Glory to His Name forever!
