THINK THE WORD

THINK THE WORD – Pastor Chris

Thursday, May 23, 2019

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things (Philippians 4:8).

God didn’t only instruct us to mount guard at the door of our hearts against the wrong thoughts from passing through, He also
tells us the kind of thoughts to allow. That’s what we read in our theme scripture.

There’re people who have heard something that wasn’t true, or honest, or pure, or of good report, yet they kept it in their minds until it controlled their lives and led to depression. No; that’s the wrong way to live. Don’t brood over anything that’s detrimental to your spirit. Rather, make a practice of forming the right images in your mind in consistency with the Word. When you do, those thoughts will create realities.

Thoughts have power and create realities. What you think about, you become. That’s the reason your thoughts must be wholesome. The admonition in our opening verse is actually a call to think on the Word; to have Word-based thoughts.

When you think on the Word, it’ll create and produce in you ideas and pictures of success, endless possibilities and victories, love and fellowship with God. When things get tough, refuse to be stressed or flustered. Rather, get a hold of God’s Word and brood over it. Don’t think or talk about the problem; just ponder on, and mutter God’s Word about the situation. Soon enough, there’ll be a change; a permanent change. Hallelujah!

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you because the entrance of your Word illuminates my spirit and causes me to think the right thoughts. I brood only on things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of a good report, virtuous and praiseworthy. Therefore, I make my way prosperous and walk in absolute victory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
