Your Inheritance Through The Word – Pastor Chris
Sunday, March 5, 2017
And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified (Acts 20:32).

The concluding part of the verse above says the Word is able to “give you” an inheritance among them that are sanctified. The Spirit of God, through the Apostle Paul, wrote this to the Church. Why would He say this to Christians who already have an inheritance in Christ Jesus?
The reason is clear. First, understand that He wasn’t talking about the ownership of the inheritance, but the inheritance being delivered into your hands. Yes, legally, all things are yours in Christ Jesus, but there’re rebel holders of authority—Satan and his cohorts—who often try to sway God’s people from enjoying their inheritance. Now, Paul, by the Spirit, declares that the Word of God is able to literally deliver your inheritance into your hands, to enjoy, irrespective of the activities of the adversary.

This spells absolute joy, fulfilment and glory for us in Christ Jesus! It simply means your prosperity and blessings aren’t dependent on whether or not your parents or forebears bequeathed any inheritance to you! In Christ, you have obtained an inheritance: “Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light” (Colossians 1:12). Peter describes that inheritance as incorruptible, untainted, unsullied, and eternal (1 Peter 1:4).
Something beautiful to also note is that the Spirit didn’t say the Word will apportion an inheritance to you, but that it’ll “deliver” the inheritance to you. In other words, as you meditate on the Word, the blessings thereof become evident in your life! No wonder the Bible says, “Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all” (1 Timothy 4:15). Hallelujah!
Confession
The glory in the Word and the righteousness thereof are manifest and evident in my life. My faith is alive and producing results as I put the Word to work. The Word of God in my mouth causes circumstances to align with God’s perfect will for me, delivering to me every blessing that’s ordained for me in Christ, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
