Just Like Jesus… – Pastor Chris
Tuesday, March 20, 2018
Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17).
Our opening verse tells us we’re just like Jesus. Being born again, we have His life and nature in our spirits. This has effectively removed us from the class of ordinary men and placed us in the class of God; we’re associates of the God-kind; partakers of the divine nature (2 Peter 1:4).
You’re not an ordinary person. To consider or perceive yourself to be ordinary is to say Jesus is ordinary, and He’s not. He’s the glory of God. He’s the righteousness and perfection of God revealed. He’s Himself God. The Bible says “…it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell” (Colossians 1:19). Colossians 2:9 says, “For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.” But here’s the part that’s so mind-blowing: the Bible says of His fullness have we all received, grace heaped upon grace (John 1:16).
We’re full of God as Jesus is full of God, because we’ve received of His fullness, and that’s not all. Colossians 2:10 says we’re complete in Him. How glorious this is! When Jesus walked this earth, He was God tabernacled in human flesh, full of grace, glory, and truth. He lived and manifested the supernatural. He walked on water, tamed the wind and the waves, such that His disciples, in awe, exclaimed, “What manner of man is this” (Mark 4:41).
He talked to deaf ears, and they opened. He spoke to blind eyes, and they responded. He talked to lame legs, and they revived. He talked to the dead and they came alive. Now the Bible says, “As He is, so are we in this world” (1 John 4:17). That means you can think, walk, talk, and act like Jesus! You’re supernatural and extraordinary, just like Jesus.
When you say to blind eyes, “Open,” they’ll open up. When you command the lame to walk, they’ll walk. You’ve received of His fullness. No wonder He said in Matthew 10:8, “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.” Hallelujah!
PRAYER
Blessed Father, thank you for your Word that has lifted and placed me on a pedestal beyond the ordinary. I acknowledge my special place in Christ and declare that my life is a manifestation of your glory! I live in, and manifest the supernatural today and always, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
