WE RELATE TO GOD FROM OUR SPIRITS – Pastor Chris

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:28).

There’s a misconception that some people have about how men and women connect with God in worship. They assume that men tend to focus on songs about power, while women, being more passionate, prefer singing love songs to the Lord. But such thinking is carnal and misses the deeper spiritual truth. When it comes to our relationship with God, we relate to Him from our spirits, not on the basis of physical gender.

Paul made this clear when he said, “For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son…” (Romans 1:9). We are spirit beings, created in the image of God, and when we serve God, we do so from our spirits. In Christ, our identity transcends gender. Our true identity is in our spirits, and in that realm, there is no distinction. Therefore, in worship, your connection with God is about your spirit reaching out to His Spirit in fellowship. The Lord Jesus said, “But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth” (John 4:23-24).

The outward gender is part of the earthly body, but we’re new creations, living and serving God from our spirits, where gender distinctions have no place: Galatians 3:26-28, “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.”

Also, the Bible says that “…the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed” (1 Corinthians 15:52). At the resurrection, we will be transformed and no longer be bound by physical distinctions like gender. Hallelujah!

PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for the revelation of who I am in Christ. I know that in my spirit, I’m a new creation, made in your image. I serve you with all my heart, with passion, power and love, knowing that my worship transcends the physical. Thank you for making me inextricably one with you, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY:
John 4:23-24 NIV
Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

Romans 1:9 For
God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;

Galatians 3:26-28 AMPC
For in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God through faith. 27 For as many [of you] as were baptized into Christ [into a spiritual union and communion with Christ, the Anointed One, the Messiah] have put on (clothed yourselves with) Christ. 28 There is [now no distinction] neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is not male [a]and female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
